VOL. 5, NO. 2 | Saved from God by God
One of the reasons that the unchurched do not have a “felt need” for redemption and justification, sanctification, adoption, and the like, is that they are not convicted of their sin. If they heard the Law proclaimed in all its terror, bringing them face to face with the reality of their sinfulness, and guilt before a holy God, their felt need would be for something far more ultimate than even significant, but penultimate, earthly woes. It is our fault that their felt need is not for the Gospel. The reason they are not asking “How can I be saved from God’s wrath?” is because we are no longer telling them the bad news that makes the good news really great. In this issue, some of your favorite teachers will be showing us why there is not only no other answer than Christ, but why there is no other ultimate crisis than the wrath of a holy God.
