More often than not, the greatest threats to Christianity have come not from external enemies, but from internal challenges to reshape the message to suit the surrounding culture. No greater example of this can be found that in the ancient heresy of Gnosticism. In this issue, we will define this movement of super-spiritual mysticism in an effort to understand why so many scholars, Christian and non-Christian, seem to think that we are now in the middle of a sweeping Gnostic revival.
