In this issue, we explore the doctrine of justification. The issue of justification is not about who is right; it is about who is righteous. For those people who know themselves to be sinners, both before and after professing faith in Christ, the doctrine of justification is wonderful comfort for it teaches that we may stand confidently in God’s presence on the basis of Christ’s righteousness which is credited to us and received by faith. If it sometimes seems as if Modern Reformation is obsessed with justification, it reflects a concern to provide genuine comfort to sinners in need of a savior.
